Although Abergavenny is only a few hours away from the major cities in the UK, it feels like a different world when you get here. If you want to chill out and maybe do some shopping then there’s a good selection of shops both in Abergavenny and nearby Crickhowell whilst Cardiff is only an hour away by train or car.
If you want to enjoy the great outdoors then you won’t be disappointed. Abergavenny is surrounded by rivers and hills making it an outdoor lovers paradise. We’ve excellent fishing on the River Usk right outside the pub, brilliant walking on the hills around Abergavenny and loads of cycling opportunities both on road and on quiet offroad trails. If you’d rather see the countryside from horseback then there are several centres just a short drive away where you can explore the wonderful countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Abergavenny is surrounded by good places to eat starting with The Bridge itself. We pride ourselves on our quality menu which uses many locally sourced ingredients including a number of vegetarian options. We also offer roast lunches on a Sunday and usually have live music too.
