If your idea of walking involves shops and maybe a cafe stop then we’ve got good news for you. Abergavenny could right up your street !
What you won’t find in Abergavenny is the same old high street stores. As a market town, Abergavenny has a wide variety of local independent shops as well as the nationally famous Abergavenny Indoor Market. But if that’s too much for you then we also have lots of fabulous cafes as well – seven at the last count.
And continuing the food theme, Abergavenny hosts the annual Abergavenny Food Festival in September and a smaller version in the run-up to Christmas and there are delicatessens, award winning butchers, bespoke cake shops and a number of fine restaurants too.
But what’s food without drink? Just outside of Abergavenny you’ll find the Sugarloaf Vineyard at the foot of the mountain that bears its name whilst in the opposite direction in Llanellen you’ll find the Old Forge Cafe which sells all sorts of Welsh gifts and craft items.
If you’d rather shop somewhere larger then Cwmbran is only 15 miles away whilst Cardiff with its impressive St Davids Shopping Malls is only 30 miles away.
